Width of strap lugs on Yashica 635?
« on: June 11, 2012, 02:38:44 AM »
I am looking to buy a suitable strap for the latest addition to my collection; a lovely Yashica 635. As I won't have the camera in my hands for at least another week, can someone please tell me the exact width of the strap lugs, so that I can determine what will and won't fit through them?

Thanks,
  Glen

I don't know, but you'll need width and thickness.

Hey Glen

I just measured for you.

On the leather case, the rectangular strap lugs are 13x18mm (internal measurement).

On the camera itself, there is an 11.5x2mm slot that your strap passes through and anchors 15mm below that on a stud, which is 5mm diameter.

My straps are 10mm wide by approx 2mm (perhaps a bit less) thick and they have a slot near the end to go over the stud on the camera.

Thank-you Seth for taking the time to measure the camera's strap lugs; much appreciated. I have ordered a strap whose ends are 10mm wide, so it will indeed fit just fine through the 11.5mm opening. Here is the strap I have ordered.
