Guys, it's a genuine thrill to see how everyone interprets the theme. I thought this time round the submissions are really strong. I love the cyanotype because I'm very interested in enlarged negatives and alt processes at the moment (the photo's pretty schweet too
), but Aline's is the one that really grabbed me first time round. Something about it.....Yummy!
Keep returning to Ed Wenn's pic of the opened latch, love it
Thanks Karl, much appreciated. Ironically, my image in the collab is a complete mongrel using almost none of the components that I usually employ, so I'm really pleased you like it.
- The film was accidentally exposed to the bright Morrocan sun which is why the edges are bleached out so fetchingly.
- My computer, scanner etc. are all over the house at the mo, so I had to work from a very low res contact sheet scan I did 2 months ago using scanning software that I'd never used before.
- When I came to edit the image last night before mailing it to Susan, I found that Photoshop wouldn't work properly, so I had to crop, re-size and adjust levels in some more-basic-than-basic Microsoft application and couldn't grayscale it either which is where the weird blue tones come from.
This new method of working is obviously the way forward
Thanks to Susan for all the hard work (as usual).
