I couldn't help myself.
I told myself it would be harmless going to a camera collector fair. And I must be a convincing liar because I bought the story and mooched on down to a hall filled with be-cardiganed gentle folk, and wandered around pretending not to be all that interested.
Of course it was fate that should put a mint condition Toyo-view 4x5 on the first table I came to. All those deep seated 'camera envy' feelings rushed to the surface and before I knew it I was talking turkey, doing the business and lugging home a very large wooden box full of bits.
Perhaps to atone for my splurge I should sell the rarely used little 120 Cambo SC. Heaven forbid that I should become a monorail collector too
There's never a practical reason for doing something like this. Perhaps this forum should be sub-titled 'moneywasters', but none the less I'm looking forward to using this bestie to pull type 5x4 negs on portraits and still life. Maybe even for pinhole.
What fun.
