Omega B-66 vs C-700
« on: July 21, 2013, 02:33:16 AM »
Well, caveat emptor, for sure.

A few weeks ago I picked up an Omega B-66 in fantastic shape off Craigslist but the seller had misplaced the neg carriers (though she may have found them yesterday, I should find out Tuesday). So, of course, I started to hound evilBay for the extra bits. I picked up a 35mm carrier and a 39mm lens board.

I had read that the C-700 neg carriers are backwards-compatible with the B-66, and this site would certainly seem to bear that out:

But, interestingly, I bought a 425-219, which is supposed to fit either a C-700 or C-760, and I assumed a B-66 by inheritance. Piss-poor assumption on my part. So, I've learned my lesson and now I'm really curious. Does anyone out there have experience with all three flavors? I can't fathom how a carrier would fit the C-700 and not the B-66, unless we were talking 6x7 or something.

P.S.
I'll still take a dysfunctional enlarger and a weekend over a random Tuesday.  Happy Weekend, everyone.
