There is an inspiring film available at the aljazeera web site about the Latvian photographer, Inta Ruka, who has worked mostly  in the rural areas of her country with an old Rollei.

She's certainly had a varied and intersting (soometimes tragic) life. It's an object lesson to us all that you can actually produce top-flight, beautiful and varied photos with a 1930s camera with a fixed focal length - if you have the imagination to do so.

I'm going to watch it again as I'm sure there'll be things that I've missed (or didn't quite get) first time round.

I'm wondering if anyone has identified that large camera the photographer is using at eye level toward the end of the film.   

I don't think I've ever seen a better film about photography.

Fuji 6x9 I would say.

It was the earlier version of the Fuji 6x9 rangefinder, I think. I was a bit surprised to see her with the Fuji instead of her beloved and trusty Rolleiflex and the old tripod. Anyway, I think she is a good example of how gear is not very important at all if you have enough artistic talent. I absolutely love the video, have it bookmarked, will watch it again many many times and will definitely harass my photographer friends by emailing them the link time after time.
