Topic: Help me repair a Half Working ProPack

Hey everyone !
A pro-photog who mainly uses Polaroids lend me one of his ProPack's, because it has a small problem: the shutter fires randomly, so sometimes it "opens" sometime it doesn't !
So I've changed the batteries and it still does that !

What do you is the problem ?

Could be a loose wire.

I may know the problem. I had a similar issue on my 250.

On the 250 there is a slider on the bottom of the camera that moves across when you pull the bellowes out. This slider releases a lever that makes an electrical circuit that engages the lightmeter when the bellowes are fully extended. On my 250, this contact was semi corroded. A little vinegar on the end of a Q-tip and i was shooting consistently after that. Normally theres a cover but mine fell off.





This is the piece that lifts up. The contact is right underneath the highlighted piece.

I would removed the front standard and clean the shutter blades and magnet that hold the inner blade open. It's a very simply and robust shutter. I cleaned mine up years ago after it got wet in a ditch. It was my first and only new Polaroid from 2004.

This is the inside of a Colorpack II, pretty much the same internals as a ProPack.
