Some Adox emulsions were Efke, but I don't know if this was one of them.

The CHS (25, 50 and 100) - so called "Art series" were efke, Adox is still producing the CMS 20 film and newly the Silverfast (or something like that)..
Now I'm curious what pricing they'll come up with - I hope it'll be a tad more affordable than e.g. ilford stuff in larger formats (though nto necessarily as cheap as the old adox).

A few things strike me.
First, they're going to use a PET base (or why put the letters for Poly Ethylene Terephthalate on the box?).
This is going to make the film base super resistant. So, no tearing this one in the lab while getting it off the backing paper.

Second, "The new film is manufactured in Germany and thus upgraded to our professional line."

This one makes me think of those Shamwow infomercials when Headset Vince says "Made in Germany, you know the germans always make good stuff."
Just like if being Made in Germany was the same as Professional

i have a roll of adox 25 that i was saving for some long exposures. i accidentally wound it back into the canister and cant get it out even with a film picker. random but this post reminded me of the unused, unusable roll i have in my drawer.

I wasn't aware of the iso25 film I may have to give that a go.

You can always go to a one hour lab and ask them if they can't manage to get it back out. Different retrievers work differently.
Mine is from Kodak and it's pretty good at picking almost anything out.

Nigel, if you are referring to the CMS 20, beware that you have to use it with the dedicated developer to get best results! I have't tried it myself though, being now well stocked with delta 100, but the time for it may come..

EDIT to clarify:
Adox CMS 20 II is Agfa-Gaevert Copex HDP, a high resolution copy microfilm. Like all typical document films, it is made for very high contrast. Thus, you need a very low-contrast developer if you want to use it as half-tone film. I think that is all there is about this "special" developer dedicated to CMS 20 II.

You can retrieve the film from the canister in a very easy way: You take a piece of film you don't need anymore, then you put some double side tape on one side. Then you insert the film with the double sided tape into the mouth of the canister you want the film from, the tape has to face to the inside of the canister. Then you rotate the spool until the piece of film you inserted sticks to the film you want to retrieve. Then you can pull it out.

Great news!! Before I was forced by the results of a lengthy time and motion study (conducted over the course of 4 years) to use instant film exclusively, I was a big fan of Efke b/w film and used the 25, 50, 100 and 400 versions a lot for a number of years. I still have some in my fridge.
