Thanks very, very much to Francois for instigating this little look back at 2012. We promise we'll be back doing podcasts in 2013.

Nice one, guys! More podcasts would be great, but, I know they take a bit of putting together.

Here's to 2013.

I watched it first thing this morning (when I should have been getting an image to Ed) and loved it. Sean's peel apart work is iconic. Time for a book, Sean!

....a lot of fun watching it a few times and seeing which images leap out at you. I see my family a lot, Sean's dog, Damion's friend, Sid and that snap of Urban :-)

Don't be afraid to hit that slo-mo button :)

Or, you can test your reflexes by trying to hit pause on your own images :)

Great job Francois! I saw a few of mine in there, I'm going to have to work out how to watch it slower.

Have a Happy and Peaceful New Year everyone! Here's to wasting film together in 2013!  :)

I'm going to have to work out how to watch it slower.
Get VLC Media Player (www.videolan.org). As far as I'm concerned, this is probably the best media player available these days. Under the playback menu, there is a setting for speed.

I wouldn't mind that!

nigel, if it's too fast and you want to check you can always head to the flickr pool for the group and use the lightbox mode.
just go here and press the play button over the shot:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/filmwasters/pool/lightbox/
you can also use your arrow keys to change photo and the spacebar to pause or play the slideshow.

So does the player that comes with the K-lite Codec Pack (Media player classic home cinema version).
This is surprisingly good too.

Well, Ed did replace my half finished sentences with a smooth talking segment :)

I never seem to get the hang of talking to a camera. When you meet real people, you can say some goobely goop and people will get it. Alone on video, you have to be perfect or else it just won't work. Or maybe I'm just being overly critical of myself?

I just watched this, and there are a few things I'd like to say.

First, as Jack said, Sean's work is iconic. I recognized more than a few in there that I've seen before, even at the speed they were advancing. I've followed Sean on Flickr and Twitter for a while before joining here at FW, and as a little peon photographer out in the interwebs rediscovering film, his work was definitely inspirational.  Its even more so now, because of the slightly more personal look that this site affords. In fact, his video is how I learned to bleach my FP100C negatives. So thank you very much Sean!

Secondly, I don't know what it is about this place, but the cohesiveness of everything, and everyone is simply amazing. There's a noticeable kindredness here that I'm glad I found, and look forward to experiencing more of in the future. I know that we are all thousands of miles apart, but from what little I know of most of you, if we were closer, I'd definitely invite you over for a dinner party! There's a certain level of talent that you all possess that I am desperate to get a piece of. I only hope that hanging around here will allow me to soak a little of that up.

That was a great video Francois! Thanks for putting it together! Hopefully I can be a part of the 2013 version!
Christopher

I know looking back at the video that I would try and do things a bit different next time in order to minimize the flickering effect. But that would also mean sorting the images by hand.

Fab!!!
Ta a lot guys, much appreciated. Had been looking forward to new releases for quite a while, so it was a very nice surprise to come across it.
One only comment, if I may. Not to be fussy, but ... will you keep feeding the site http://filmwasters.com/podcast/ ? Am asking because my itunes didn't find the video. If I am not wrong this is the source for iTunes and it is incredibly handy to have iTunes download automatically all latest releases.

Bah! Jordi, you're correct. I totally forgot to update that part if the site. B*gger. This is most embarrassing especially given my fanatical devotion to RSS. I'll sort it asap. Thanks for the feedback.

For a long time, I've been running gPodder as a podcast downloader. Nice since it can use any service that publishes an RSS stream.
It's also Windows & Linux compatible. Nice.
