Nickelodeon Photo Blaster
« on: November 10, 2012, 08:23:09 PM »
New toy! I've been wanting one of these babies for a while and been searching on eBay, and just found one. Hopefully I'll get it before next weekend. If you're not familiar, it takes 4 separate pictures on a 35mm frame. I cannot wait to play with it!

I can't believe you managed to get your hands on one of those :)
They're getting to be as rare as hen's teeth!

My mom once wanted to get me one when I begun taking photos but I didn't want it because I thought people would just laugh at me :-\ (I was in my nice glass period)
Now, I somehow regret not getting one...

If you want to try something exciting, just load it with a 36 exposure roll... It's bound to be the most bang for your buck you'll ever get  :P

I have one of these also. There use to be a knockoff version that was cheaper. Let me see if I can find a link.... Looks like it is no longer available for the cheap price http://amzn.com/B000ALMOO4

@Francois: Yes, it took me about a year of checking eBay to find one. But as it happened, suddenly a few have gone up there recently.

@astrobeck: Thanks! I expect to carry it with me and whip it out at events where others are carrying their pricey digital cameras. And yes, Gary is the king of toy cameras. Hopefully we can have him speak again at the B&H Event Space sometime soon.

Rich, the Photo Blaster allows you 4 separate shutter clicks per film frame. Lomo action sampler is one shutter click and makes a 4 pic sequence per frame.

The Photoblaster gives you four times the number of individual frames per roll.

In case anyone is interested, there is one (still in original package) for sale on eBay right now:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=nickelodeon+photo+blaster+&_trksid=p5197.c0.m1950

I haven't seen my first results yet. I just took it to the lab o Friday and will pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait to see it! It's worth using just for the looks people give you when you pull it out!
