Topic: T-Max developer for sheet film???

The T-Max data sheet says not to use it for sheet film but I just did (with Fp4) and the results are fine...at least the sheet I developed looks good.
I ran out of my usual Arista Premium developer but had some T-Max so used it.

What am I missing?  Is it an archival thing, or is it a contrast issue?  Or neither of those?

You were lucky perhaps?  Here's what Kodak says about using it with sheet film:

"Note: Kodak T-Max developer is not recommended for use with any sheet film. Occasionally dark, blotchy coating called dichroic fog will appear on the emulsion side of your film and can only be removed by vigorously washing the film by hand, which carries the risk of scratching the image. Because roll films don't use the same adhesive coatings as sheet films between the emulsion and the film base, dichroic fog is not a problem when T-Max developer is used with roll film."

This is really strange, I never noticed that!
I went through an old Kodak publication and they used to recommend using Tmax RS (the replenisher version) for some sheet films, but not all.
I guess that the results are somewhat random for some films. It seems it applies more to tray processed films than tank processed films...
