Did anyone here enter the Black and White photo mag photographer of the year contest this year? http://www.bpoty.com

Submissions are closed now, and the prize is maybe not our type of thing, but it's an interesting competition, with some worthy winners over the years.

Just sizing up to competition

Thought about it but:

(a) I doubt any of my stuff would be good enough to contend, let alone win.
(b) despite being a Leica fan, I neither want nor need another digital camera.
(c) it would have felt wrong if, by some miracle, I'd fluked a win - only to flog it.
(d) I'm not really into competitions.

I subscribe to the magazine and the competition does get my interest each year, but I'm much too critical of my own work to have the hubris to actually enter a competition!

Hadn't heard of the competition, but to be honest two things would stop me entering:

1  I'm too tight to pay the entry fee
2. My photos aren't good enough to win
