Just curious what price did you find on that film? Looking it up the cheapest price I could discover was $9.99, a bit thick. The new Lomo 110 film is $7.90 a roll for either B&W or color. Don't know why I care as I don't even have a 110 camera. But I find it encouraging to see a dead film format resurrected. That cheers me up a bit when I see so much sad news regarding film lately. I do shoot submini, a Minolta 16II. The cassettes are a breeze to reload and 100ft. of Eastman 16mm single perf Double-X will yield 60 rolls easy.
As to the question of "why shoot a subminiature camera?" Well, speaking strictly for myself, I just find it a fun challenge to see what I can get off of a 10X14mm negative. I mean, in regard to film, if ultimate technical quality is the overarching requirement then I would think that a at least a top flight medium format system with the best lenses would be minimum size one would shoot. Regular 24X36mm on 35mm would be just too small to even consider.
