Happy solstice and a solargraph
« on: June 20, 2012, 11:03:20 PM »
as per usual I made a solargraph of the Sun's path across the sky for the past six months.

As you can see by the long arcs with few gaps, we have a lot of sunshiny days in this part of the world.

Homemade pinhole camera made from an empty 35mm film can and expired black and white photo paper.
Look closely to see the mountain in the distance on the lower right of the image.
Edit- should mention this is facing west.

Always good, Becky. I'm always amazed at the size because when I see them on here I imagine them MASSIVE!

That really is great and interesting to see the horizon so clearly.

If you did one over the winter in the UK it would have about three lines on it!

thank you all!
I really enjoy seeing the results after 6 months and knowing how much clear sky we have.

Nigel- you might be surprised if you put one out in the UK...you might get 4 or 5 lines on it actually!   ;D

What an absolutely thrilling image! I've never gone the pinhole route, but if things like this are possible I'm going to have to.

Really nice shot Becky!

First time I tried, the camera got covered in snow and iced solid!

What always amazes me is how plain they look when you take them out of the camera... and how colorful they look when scanned!
