Photo Op! Annular Eclipse
« on: May 06, 2012, 06:52:44 PM »
In select parts of the Western USA, there will be an Annular Solar Eclipse on May 20.
Annular eclipses do not block out the entire Sun.

It happens just before sunset, so the photo ops should be pretty cool!
There's an interactive map here:

Albuquerque is right under the center line, so we are going to be busy!  Lot's of astronomer types and photographers will be on hand to document the event.

If you happen to be coming out for it, let me know since we have a reserved site available and the city has many other sites ready to go!    :)

Wow! I feel so lucky to be from and living in Albuquerque right now :) thanks for the heads up. I will be seeing the eclipse from the National Museum on Nuclear Science and History that is down the street from my house!! Do you have any recommendations on how to shoot the annular eclipse?

Finally! Another filmwaster in Albuquerque!

The eclipse is at maximum near sunset, so bracketing is going to be key.

You are invited to come to Albuquerque.  This is turning into the hot-spot for astronomers this week!

i'm still giggling about the word annular.
