Interesting - thanks for the Link Peter.

Simple advice like this lacks direct authority though, Home Office or not.  Private companies are still able to act on discretion then wait for their actions to be challenged through litigation.

I doubt this will change much as far as private security firms are concerned.

I don't know about London, but in NYC, it's usually the tripod that gets you hassled.

It is certainly a step in the right direction, however beware the photographer with the small camera. ;)

I do also note the possibility of getting into trouble is directly proportion to your I Am A Photographer arrogance. Having been stopped numerous times photographing across the world, I've never been asked to delete a single frame. On one memorable occasion I was photographing a bridge and an FBI building, and the responding agent and I ended with a conversation on the merits of film...

I do not have a swarthy complexion, dreads, or other non-WASP effects. Lucky I suppose. Good to see common sense prevailing though! Skj.
