:) it's cool having some of these theories debunked a bit. I went to Silverprint last week on a rare jaunt through London and stocked up on some tanol speed. I was reading up on the various water bath/alkaline fix scenarios. I had even got as far as the darkroom cookbook recipe pages! I remember using it a while back with standard fix and still got a reasonable stain.
Article here on tanol speed in case anyone's interested....

more to the point .. .which developer did you use, and do YOU feel that it has given you any extra over and above your usual developer?

Mojave :Thank You , i didnt used scanner to scan those i am using my scanning machine : from pictures bellow :)

leon taylor : I am not sure This is PMK pyro made by my friend. I am not expert but i can see big difference in pushing shanghai 100 to 400 . i pushed shanghai in R09 and pictures come out more contrasty but still very good. I think that shanghai 100 is better when pushed to 400 then rated 100.

i will try to develop Fuji x ray blue sensitive film in the same developer. Fuji x ray is a contrasty film so it should help to lover the contrast as well.

Karl : Thank You i didn't print i don't have facility for enlarging.

i am using 400 watt strobe light in softbox behind negative. As You may see negative have greenish colour .
After shooting i am inverting in PS and aply levels and curves . With this negatives i didnt do much only slightly levels and curves.

Nice instant scanner!
I built something similar a while ago... works surprisingly well.
