hey everyone i just wanted to share a couple websites i've been frequenting recently. many of you probably have seen these photographers before but i feel compelled to share anyways. sorry to be repetitive :P

From trawling the Web it does indeed look like Yuka Akinaga is a film photographer...which is great news.

Jose has been using film for a while for his weddings, I think the Inside Analogue podcast has an episode that features him.

Both nice. Like Yuka's work a lot. I (being sad) had my nose pressed against the screen and saw that Jose uses a Contax MF camera. Not sure if it's film but looks like it.

nice~ I'm no real fan of wedding shots but I really like how jose ties the shots together with some detail shots on things too.

I'm with Jojonas on this one. Having shot weddings professionally (as a supplementary income) for a while in the early 80's - and hated almost every moment of it - I really don't see this type of commercial photography as "fine art". However, I have to give the guy immense credit as his photos are beautiful and he's obviously got a great rapport with his customers.

Yuka's gallery is also an impressive find. The "Life" collection is definitely my favourite.

Not sure I'll ever get to Japan but there are some stunning shots amongst his work.

im with Karl, they are both really  great but Yuka's stuff stands out to me, just love the colours, particularly like his her approach to fashion work

thanks a lot for sharing :-)

(im terrible, why do I always assume photographers are guys!)

I'm not really into wedding photography at all but those pictures made me forget the're actually related to the subject... very well done and the colour tones are fantastic!

to those who asked, jose uses a contax 645 and a canon 1v (i think) and yuka uses a MTL 5B praktica.

i actually am a huge fan of jose just because he shoots as is. there's no photoshop tricks or anything (too) unnatural about his work. i think he pays a great attention to detail and composes his shots very well. i don't think he can shoots the average joe's wedding with hundreds of guests in the same fashion but i like it nevertheless.

yuka's work is just so surreal looking and original and creative. sometimes it feels like i'm looking into a dream and seeing those shots.
