Just took this and a couple of other snaps of young Cailean on his second birthday.

Wrestled with the Kiev 60 for this :-) Hp5

Folks, many thanks for the kind comments, appreciated. Photography is such a subjective thing. Either how we approach and how we appreciate it. Sometimes we are lucky enough to ignite a spark and achieve some common ground : )

Last additions are just fantastic, I must say I am not a big fan of landscapes, may be because I am not too profficent at ; ) but Leon's, Ann's and andrea's are quite a thing!! Leon is that a large format camera? That first one...
Phil, fantastic churchyard shot!
Miles that is a classy street shot, just beautiful.

Right now I am in a long weekend in Kuala Lumpur which is proving quite challenging, little Alma is sick and we are having a hard time, everybody's ability to cheer up is being tested : ) 3 shots in one day, we'll see tomorrow.

Ann, I just love that "drift" fence.  We use those here for snow.  :)

Andrea, your portrait of the island is sublime.
Phil- the church-ladies are excellent!

Carlos, so sorry to hear that little ALma is sick.  I hope she recovers quickly.  It's bad enough to be sick, but while traveling and away from home is quite another matter.  All my well thoughts to her!

Great weekend all!

Miller - lots of different layers going on this picture like all good street type pictures should have IMO. Nicely done.

Leon, taken on the way to the Emirates stadium and I have no idea what you mean though even the Mrs said...      "Don't do it..."    ??? ;)

Calbisu, thanks and strange that this week both my boys feature, also I hope the lil one gets well soon...

A little bit of Holga love today. Haven't taken it out for over a year!

The second shot isn't overexposed...worst air quality I have seen in the 14 years I've been here. The dust/haze extended way beyond the valley and into the mountains and all the way down to Tucson at least. As bad as LA smog! Couldn't see a mountain until you were right up on it...

It's been a busy weekend for me, so only just getting to grips with the week(end) thread.

- Andrea's first shot of the boy and her view of Harris are just stunning
- Thom's first shot of the Lakeland cottages is so reminiscent of all the time I spent up there as a kid / youth / young man
- Hookstrapped's second of his model and Clark Gable looking at one another is just so well observed
- Dave Elden's latest in his bridges of Paris set is gorgeous
- Calbisu's third is beautiful and distressing all at the same time
- Damion's NY skyline is lovely
- Leon's second of his standing stones is very powerful
- Original Ann's beach fence is timeless and makes me want to be there
- Mojave's gum bichromate of the carousel is like a painting and I want a print on my wall.....!!

My efforts are a few more from the last Ridgeway walk we did. I love poppies and we were lucky to stumble across a few. All hand-held with the Hasselblad 500c/m on Fuji Provia 100 slide.

Some excellent work as always. Too much great stuff to pick out but Calbisu I have to agree with everyone else that last shot is just perfect.

I've been going back to my series of small shops recently.

These shot on the Holga.

yeah nice one nigel, more reason for me to replace my broken 120n with a 120GN, I like the sharpness in the centre to the corner blur, its awesome

Wonderful work all. Andrea, that's a great pic of Cailean.

A pic of Ashton Lane in Glasgow taken on the Hasselblad currently on loan from A - it has a rather big lens hood  ;)

Quality. Ashton Lane is the setting for much of my wasted youth. Get a bit sentimental looking at this (tho it's not the same since they did up the Grosvenor cinema. It had proper old school charm and now it's a yuppie haven. Sigh) The vignette from the too-big hood only adds to the impression...

Lovely Thom.

Nigel - Whites of Kent are such timewarp shops aren't they, I think Herne Bay & Whitstable have them too.  The second one looks almost tilt and shift, very nice.

really like that Nigel's Mrs Marengo image - kind of walking while in a dream state. There's a "are you being served" kind of store here too, I'll have to capture it one of these days.
As for me, I thought about working on my social skills so I decided to "make" new friends  :-\

Beautiful shots Miles. Not sure if it's the film, the camera or the processing but the low contrast effect is stunning and very much in the style of the late 50's / early 60's.
