Topic: Mystery mini flash-shoe light meter...

So on my usual weekly meander around the local charity shops, i picked up a Konica C35 and an AGFA Silette II with a box of accessories. In this box i found a tiny, flash shoe mounted light meter, i can find no reference to it anywhere online, it only says "made in Japan" and "sunset" on the meter itself...

i was wondering if anyone has any ideas?
i tried it with a 1.3v battery however this seems to be too powerful for it but the meter itself works fine!

It obviously has two settings: High luminosity/Low luminosity.
It could very well be you just had it on the wrong setting...
You read the number where the meter lands, report the number on the wheel in the EV section and read the exposure. Be sure to turn it back off when done.

yeah thanks, id tried all the settings however the meter is always reading too high, on low it was all the way off the scale and on high is was up at 9 on a very dull day

It doesn't really mean it doesn't work...
Best thing would be to compare it to a Sunny/16... that's how I discovered one of my meters was going haywire.

My guess maybe something from Showa-Koden or Walz? There were a 20+ japanese companies that made meters, most people never heard of. Many are still making meters but not for photographic usage.
