Topic: Powering my Landcam

Howdy all,

Trust you all enjoyed the Royal Wedding, what a fantastic day.     But before the 20% get on their soap boxes again....   

What's the best way of powering my Landcam?

I've been taping three [1.5v] button cells together, but frankly it's a fairly hit and miss affair, and when the battery becomes disconnected the first I know is when I get a blank image.

Ed, Sean - what do you do with your Polaroids?

hm is that right? Mine's powered by a 3v lithium I think it is but then the contacts are taped in place. It's a little hit or miss but a bit better than a stack of button cells.

edit: maybe it's a 4.5v? i'll go check in a minute.

my cameras are all manual. and ed's aren't, but he's okay with that.

when i had a 250, i just bought a battery off of ebay for like $7.

definitely 3v lithium battery in my 103 land camera and using some electrical tape to hold the contacts where they should be.

I connect a small generator to a treadmill, kidnap several members of the bourgeoisie, and make them work. The proletariat are openly invited to connect their land cameras to the generator to partake in the redistribution of power.

Since we have a lot of Hydro power around here, I put a small transformer on mine and carry a very long extension cord to go with it

The good side to this is I never have to change batteries ever again

a good solution for extended use...though it limits portability.

I followed this http://home.comcast.net/~amitphotography/article%20modify%20land%20dvickers.htm and it works a treat.  I didn't solder anything, just used tape.  It took about twenty minutes.  If I can do it, anyone can.  I'm an idiot.
