Good Evening Filmwasters!
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:37:20 PM »
Evening all!
I'm Dan, based in Cardiff, Wales. I've been registered on this forum for ages but not had the guts to introduce myself so here goes.

I'm a hopeless hoarder of old cameras and I love working out how these lovely machines work. I've got several Pentax SLRs, a Rolleicord, Polaroids, folders etc. You name it, I want it! Especially if it's cheap or preferably free.

I've been learning B&W printing for a few years at a local arts centre and you can see some of my photos here.

Asphalt & Sand

It's pretty average stuff in all honesty, but I enjoy doing it immensely. I cant quite master the arty blur/skewey-framing/out-of-focus stuff, as it always looks like I've done it wrong rather than arty  :-[ . Maybe I can learn  ;D

Anyway, pleased to meet you all!

G'day Dan. Very pleased to meet you & well done for finally plucking up the courage to introduce yourself and join in properly. We are a very friendly bunch of geeks, so you should give yourself a good talking to for taking so long to get in touch  ;D

BTW, I like your IR desert landscapes a lot. Great idea. I also love the fact that you have a photo called, "Arid Scrub", which either sounds like a dodgy past time or the name of an Indie band.

you've come to the right place all right!

And a fellow Pentaxian too!  Great having you here, and really like your architecture shots.  Those interior stained glass windows are lush!   :)

Many thanks for the warm welcome,
it's good to be amongst kindred spirits  :)

I definately have C.O.D disorder Terry. I can always think of a reason why I need another one like "what if I need to do long exposures underwater with movements on instant film" etc.

I'll always have Pentax written on my heart Diane. My first SLR was/is a P50 which was given to me by a workmate. Us Pentaxians seem to be pretty low in numbers these days though.

There are several of us Pentaxian's here so you are in good company!

p.s.- I think you are reading the posts one line off from the actual author.  Not a problem as it takes a bit to figure out the layout.

Again welcome, and glad you spoke up!!!!   :)

Oh yes, how embarrassing  :-[ . It's a bit hard to read after you,ve pressed reply. Once again, thanks for the welcomes. I hope to make some kind of contribution rather than just say hello and then disappear!

I'm another Pentax Person and a big K-mount fan. Currently using (or not) an ME Super, but have also owned a Program A and a P30T. Probably go for a Super Program if the ME Super breaks. No point in missing one out :-)

Well, you can never have too many K-mount bodies can you?

I've got the P50 that I was given free, an MG that my Mum found in the local jumble sale, & an *Ist DL  digi body that I bought from old stock. Some might say I'm a touch thrifty  ;)

As for K-mount lenses, I darent count
