Chateau Feodal at Chateaurenard, Provence.  FP4 in the Toyocaflex. Most of the pic have that awful flare on them, would a hood fix that ?

Well, I've finally got some images with sprockets from the Blackbird.
All I need now is to build a scanning mask for them.

Cool ... the colours in the 3rd shot are amazing !

Ah, enjoying that sprocket tree.

Thanks guys!
The film was overexposed a bit (hence the nice colors). The lab had a hard time with it but photoshop did short work of it all. All I did was readjust the levels a slight bit to remove the excess black caused by the sprocket holes and remove an annoying Newton's ring with the healing tool...

It's on the hill above Chataeurenard, 5 miles south of Avignon.  This is a diptych of two that had winding issues on the Chaika 3.  FP4 and stiched in GIMP.

Love all the shots here, and especially like the sprocket tree!   :)

I have put off getting a Blackbird, but think I may have to talk to Santa about one for X-Mas.

And it does square on 35mm ...

Better bet than a Gakkenflex ?

Also thinking about Santa.

I have no clue what a Gakkenflex is - although it sounds vaguely painful. Still, the name alone is enough incentive for me to want one....

Astrobeck, Miles, I think you're both right about the talking to Santa part :)
Mine was an Xmas present (last year).

The blackbird is one of those strange birds in the camera world.
I love the flexibility of having three formats I can use, including square.
My only pet peeves about it are concerning the viewfinder (which is a b**** to use) and the small rewind button which was definitely designed for somebody with even smaller hands than mine.

yeah the viewfinder was a total turnoff for me. i love the "look" of the camera...but a TLR that doesn't even seem to focus through the viewfinder? and it's so finicky about being able to even see through it.

Even though I've never used one, I think the camera as a whole is quite inspired bu the Lubitel. Magnifying glass finder and geared focus knobs that move both lenses at different rates.

i had a lubitel and, yeah, you would focus and then the shot you take would be out of focus...so the finder was mostly just for framing and i used guesstimation focusing. i sold the camera.

My first roll with the Lubi was a total disaster with not a single frame in focus even though the camera has one of the best lens you could ever buy for nothing (at least before the lomography put their hands on...)

I realized the lens wasn't aligned so I decided to do align myself, even managed shooting a 35mm film.
