From two weekends ago but just processed and scanned. Taken at Stoke Row rally. I was trying to concentrate on the people as much as the engines.

I got back films from the Fujica GW690 and the Lomo LC-A. Totally different styles but I like both.

Aww, thanks Becky. Sorry to disappoint you in the short term, but hopefully the Western flavour of this will make up for the 2 day delay in some measure.

Jacqui in a 99p hat. Tachihara field cam with an old Graflex 150mm lens. Expired Polacolor 125i. Yee haw! Let me tell you; it's a complete pain trying to shoot close-in portraits with this smaller format film. I lucked-out with this one.

I have another one which came out fairly well. I think I'll shove it some coffee stain and see how it looks.

Ed, I really like all three. Of course, the finer points of LF focussing are lost on me, but, like them I do.

Calbisu, it is a wonder that this photo was ever taken. I had spent the night in a dry county and was hot-tailing it to some mates. My desire to escape the confines of an alcohol free county were quite strong, but, not strong enough for the shot to stop me in my tracks - albeit sober ones!

For focusing view cameras, a magnifier is often used. Companies like Rodenstock and Schneider make some incredible ones with a non marking base plate and high magnification... only thing is they're friggin expensive...

Phil, I do love that your dedication to booze is (just) trumped by your eye for a great snap. I've sort of given up mentioning how much I love your work and assume that you take it as given....but I also enjoy the back-story and the comments every time

Now, regarding the finer points of LF focusing....erm yeah. Hands up who thinks I did anything other than stand in the kitchen with a semi-interested model, throw a dark cloth over my head (item closest to hand on this occasion was an apron), focus quickly while being tutted at, scream, "Right, I think your eyes are sharp....now don't bl**dy move!", then take a gamble on the best aperture (the old DOF versus length-of-exposure gamble when you can't see what you're actually taking a photo of), pray that the 405 holder went in the way I think it did (one way you lose the top of the ground glass image, the other, you lose the bottom) and then trip the shutter.

Been rather busy of late, together with guests staying in the spare room preventing access to the scanner, so I have a back log of developing and scanning to do.

This is one of my eldest son (rounders on the beach). Taken using the Rollei B35. A tad overexposed so didn't scan well, but some digital improvements courtesy of Andrea - time for a darkroom lesson, A?

I'm hobbling around with a walking stick - taking the day off to help the recovery, hopefully wont take too long to recover.

I love this photo and I think a darkroom session w/ Andrea would work well for it (OK, I haven't seen the neg, but if you can a result approaching this then I suspect you'd be happy). Also, I wish you a speedy recovery from whatever is causing your immobility.

I made a 6x6 camera this weekend with a lens from a scanner. I shot a roll of FP4 to see what it was like. It's behaves like a superwide toy camera really- sharp in the middle and smudgy near the edges. I'm quite chuffed with how the images look:

Last weekend ... Got my first roll of Delta 400 back from the Yashica Minister III. Took my bike up the a "hangman's" tree. Waiting on a roll of SFX 120 now that I shot of the same subject with the Toyocaflex, wondering how different they will look ... And of course, Basil.
