Back In The Saddle

Crew, sorry things have been a little slow around Filmwastersville over the last month and thanks also for keeping things ticking over. The five of us haven't been completely absent, but there are a few Filmwasters projects which I was hoping to have started before now.

Leon's been doing his Law degree finals and is now off on holiday. Damion's in constant 'corporate slave' mode these days. I've been out of circulation for 3 weeks due to work commitments and sacrificed a further week on the alter of John Luther (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00s8jk0). Then there's been the World Cup ("USA wins 1-1" etc.). Damion and I have a busy week coming up with some music stuff, but things have started settling down again and we have a new collab ready to announce. I've also started work on the next video podcast which is looking really good (nudge to Ailsa here  ;)). I've also got my sights set on a new guest gallery or two. In other exciting news I've deleted my Facebook account and feel all the cleaner for it. Take that, world!
 ;)

In even more exciting news I've started to receive a steady trickle of most excellent postcards through my door. I love these exchanges. Keep 'em coming.

Nice move on the facebook account, Ed. I cuss and curse every time I get an email via there so perhaps the time is  right.

Watching England play isn't without its discomfort. I remember 1966 and watching the final with my dad, ironically I was supporting West Germany and they lost and eyt ever  since the tables seem to have been turned. Being an England supporter regardless of sport isn't pleasant for the most part!

Phil, as an aside (but filling in some of the vital details), this evening I've been drinking an excellent bottle of Camel Valley Brut 2008 and listening to Nanci Griffith, Bad Brains, Patti Smith & Jay Farrar. Some Fleetwood Mac crept in here and there, but we'll keep that under wraps.

England in the World Cup. Sigh. 'Nuff said.

Ed, may have to try the wine! I'd go with the music, but, try and stay away of video footage of Stevie Nicks in her blousy phase, all white frills and big hair. It wasn't a good look then and thankfully still isn't!

Vicky, Stevie Nicks is a witch, if you gaze upon her moving image during that period you won't be able to stop. It was more of a healtrh and safety warning ;)

I underwent several years of councelling in the 80s after she cast a spell on me!

Went to the Camel Valley vineyard once - by mistake. I was looking for the riding stables that are/were further up the track. The owner didn't seem pleased. Maybe he gets a lot of jodphur clad people looking for horses in his winery.

Lucky for me, I didn't bother to watch the World Cup... I don't know where Canada is in the rankings but I don't expect them to bee very far.
I also haven't been shooting as much as I would have liked. Mostly spent time watching a set of DVD's (the Muppet Show's first season) and fixing an old guitar I found in the neighbor's trash :)

Where's your stamina people? Isn't photography the be-all and end-all? ['No' since you ask]While you lot have been enjoying earning a crust the easy way - I've been wrestling my 'clients' to the ground and shooting way too much film - but not at the same time I might add. Might even get round to looking at some shots soon.
Meanwhile, had a visitation from a documentary film-maker from over The Pond via Europe who has been filming 'my' tame Crofter and generally filling my days :-)
Just developed some of Windy's Holga shots and printing the snap of his son on the beach seen in this weekends thread.
