instax at 7-11
« on: May 21, 2010, 08:31:58 AM »
so today when i stopped at 7-11 i noticed a pamphlet for the fuji instax. it looks like this month the promotional item they are pushing is the instax mini.  i think you have to order it and then you can pick it up at the store(here in taiwan 7-11 is truly multi-purpose. you can pay your bills, fax, buy a meal, all at the convenience store).  it just seems truly strange to me for some reason(and perhaps it shouldn't). i've scanned the pamphlet for the curious.

I think it's more about Hello Kitty than instant film...
Fun though.
Since the Hello Kitty stuff only sells in specialty shops around here, these could be sold for a mint where I live!

i think hello kitty is probably the hook, but if it was just about hello kitty i'm sure they would have chosen something else to push. hello kitty stuff tends to be everywhere here, though i was just reading that sales for hello kitty products are in decline.  now if they had a badtz or domo instant film camera i might be more tempted..

I hear you... a guy that goes around with Hello Kitty stuff around his neck can't possibly be taken seriously!  :D

Something that would be really nice though is a personally customized Instax Mini. Upload your drawing as a JPEG and get an instax with your designed logo made just for you... that would be something!

I have the Instax mini as an item of my list of "things to buy Amy in the future at birthday or Christmas time"...now partly that's because I want to have a go with one, but I do think they're perfect presents for younger kids.

Oh! I thought they were always the perfect present!
You don't need to be a kid to enjoy them... (and yes, I'm still in love with my old Instax 100 so I can't even imagine how much fun the smaller mini could be)

you could probably do that yourself with some sticker paper and a printer. i suspect that the hello kitty instax camera is just a plain white mini instax with a hello kitty sticker slapped on it.

I used an earlier version Instax Mini 10 for a project photographing near a million bucks Motorcycle Grand Prix bikes. Having the images the size of a credit card gave me that feeling as a kid collecting football cards. Recommended for that youthful Pokemon cardoholic.
