PX100 First Flush
« on: April 12, 2010, 04:54:28 AM »
Okay. I stole that header from Sean...

I imagine a lot of you boys and girls are finding the new PX100 film in your mail boxes at this time. Mine arrived yesterday. That was fast. This film is fricken frisky. I used my Alpha 1 and forgot how super quick it spits out photos. I would have prefered to use my Sonar but couldn't find it. I think focusing would have faired better. Anyhow, the first frame was really cool. Nicely exposed...nice color...it looked promising. Until the next few frames. What a drag. I even made a nifty picture holder I called The Magic Oven to shield them from light. It worked. For the first frame. The others were wonky and not worth much. I discovered the more they sit covered, the darker they become. Dial set right in the middle as recommended. We shall see another day with better composition.

Here's the first frame: Not bad for a test shot.

Second. Meh. But I did manage to manipulate which looks promising.

I'd like to see what you all are shooting with this film too. Please add them here if you like. More to come from me another weekend. Thanks for looking and post yours too.

Beck, that first one is a beauty. It will be good to see a few in the one location for comparison.

See, it's not so scary once it gets into the hands of people who know how to treat it nicely :D Lovely pictures, Beck.

Just tried it myself - bright sun is a mess, but in the warm evening-light...guess, i like it!

I'm now onto my second pack and I find it frustrating but sometimes rewarding. My first px100 shots and my final px100 shot. My second pack has sort of been equally frustrating.
