Nice. Off to a great start. Diane, I'm a big fan of condiment photos...especially blurred ones.

Phil, I don't comment on your photos often enough, but believe me...they never fail to impress. You're a master or whatever it is you're up to. I love it all.

From me...well guess what? Two more Tin Mine photos from Cornwall.

Miller: 2 crackers for sure. The second has a sense of the Gehry's about it...am I close?

Phil: I love how you manage to recreate the style of a American rest stop promo shoot from the 1960's. How did you manage to snap this one with no-one in the room? Also, I really like the lens you use with the Hassy.

Thanks, Ed. It had actually gone out of business. I stopped because the sign was cool and had a mooch around the back - it was open! I was a bit twitchy as it is on the main highway and I saw a cop car drive past a few times. I was a little worried that my car might draw attention so I took about 6 as fast as I could. It was Texas after all - they carry guns I think!

I later found out the place had been closed a few years which was pretty amazing given that it was untouched! I'd have loved an hour in there.

The other two I have posted so far are here:

http://www.terrorkitten.com/iblog/index.php?showimage=1007
http://www.terrorkitten.com/iblog/index.php?showimage=1003

I am addicted to the lens on this camera, which is just as well given it is fixed. It's beautifully wide with no distortion, no through the lens focussing and it is small and light - wonderful camera.

Great back story, Phil. I've been to your blog and love the other two images (also very gratified to see that you're a Terroir Blues fan too...sweet!). The Google Street View shows the AAA car park as being pretty busy. Amazing that you got in there before it was stripped. Quite a find.

Ed: Strange but the image reminds me of shaded pleats and makes me think on Issey Miyake especially as his work can be seen as sculpture at times.

Gregor, I like this very much, it has the feel of a self portrait.

Calbisu - both of these are wonderful. The recovered negs have a great feel. I'm very envious of your 195 if that's okay!

@Phil- Awesome location! Reminds me somehow of the Xenia Hotel you've shot so many times... I'm always too damn yellow to go inside these places when I'm in Texas- I don't mind the guns so much, it's more the Texas State Police that give me the willies... Will have to try to gather my courage next time I'm in the States. And as Ed says, that lens is killer. I've looked into getting an SWC so many times (98% because of the shots you make with it), but I just can't justify it as I'd never want to give up my 500c/m. Can't have 'em all, I guess.  :'(

@Calbisu, that first one is a winner, really striking, and well carried out. The second one is killer too, just doesn't quite GRAB me like the first. Really great work.

I'll go ahead and join in this week, since I got out shooting during this last full moon... So glad spring is here! Been locked up way too long this winter.

Jason, I'm really digging this. As for the swc, yeah the lens is sweet and wide. The wife's stint in the French Foreign Legion went some way to paying for it, the double shifts I have insisted that she works will pay for the rest - she is such an understanding soul.

What delights from such a wide spectrum this week.  My film is ready and loaded into the tanks but the hot water system has packed it inand using a kettle is just a bit too problematic.

Haven't managed to post here yet (I'm hellish busy and haven't managed to scan for a while) but I got some slides back today from my first roll of  E6 with the Pentacon 6 & I got carried away with the excitement of it all. Held up against the screen of my laptop with the slides in the sleeve and snapped with my digicrap- terribly sloppy but you get an idea.

I'm in awe at the rest of youz's photies.

In about a month I'll have more time and will be able to work through the enormous developing & scanning backlog that's building up (20+ rolls of 120 and I have no idea how much 135) so I'll hopefully have more to show then  :P

Howdy all,
I'm off to Tokyo next week, so this past Sunday, I took my 4x5 Speed Graphic (sporting a newly-acquired Graflok back) and my Rolleicord for a bit of shooting. I went for a six mile walk, to see if I could handle the Graflex and another camera during my trip....no problem. So for this trip, it's the Graflex, Rolleicord, Nikon F and three lenses, Brownie Hawkeye, and a small digital.
The first two shots were done with the Rolleicord (which has a Zeiss Triotar) and the Graflex (with a Zeiss Tessar). :D

As someone whose images I have admired for a while on APUG and elsewhere, those are kind words indeed from Leon (and from Andrea and others).  Posting my 'bad photography' here  - the stuff that tries to break some of the rules all the time.
