After i have tried some diana mini square format...
« on: April 29, 2010, 10:05:27 AM »
....i REALLY! want to know, if someone could give me a hint concerning a fundable (i am a student... ;) ) 6x6 mid-format camera?
Nothing spectacular - just want to choose aperture and shutter speeds...for example to portrait someone.

Thank you very much - and here are some diana mini print scans.

thank you!
Tim

Nice shots.
There's a whole world of cheap medium format gear out there. See this thread:

well depending on your budget. Agfa Isolette is very small and inexpensive, also any of the TLR's excluding Mamiya and Rolleiflex could be found under $100. then you have russian made cameras like kiev 60, 6c, 88 etc - they have great optics but not known to be reliable

Or just stick with a camera that uses 35mm like your Diana Mini or my Blackbird Fly... they're a lot cheaper on film. But it all depends on your budget.

Aaah, but Francois....35mm doesn't have the romance of 120.

 ;) ;)

I know... I have an empty spool of FP4 with the backing paper on my desk and I play with it on a daily basis...
Also, 35mm doesn't have the winding smoothness an old Yashica has.
