Video Podcast #2 - Drum 'n Bassman
« on: March 25, 2010, 10:13:15 AM »
The second video podcast is now online and available to watch in your Web browser or download to your iPod/iPhone*

This one's a bit shorter than the first and features contributions from Francois & Sean 'Moominsean' Rohde. There are sneak peeks at a couple of excellent exhibitions that I went to in February and there's even time for me to don some regional headgear in honour of forum member, Edthened....although I don't attempt the accent!!

 ;D ;D ;D

We have a few things already lined up for video podcast #3 and I'm excited about that one because I think it'll be the best yet. Coming down the multimedia pipeline next however is the 2nd part of the audio podcast that I recorded a 2 weeks ago with Ailsa, Leon & Damion. Hope to get that online in the next fortnight or so.

Also.

Very much enjoyed this Podcast,  Nice variety with the different contributors.

Nice to see Ed's shady mates,  the black eye is a nice tough I feel.

Good work!

Another cracking video podcast! Really enjoyed it. I grinned like a loon the whole way through Francois' bit. I could never, ever be arsed to create something like that contraption, but I'm really glad other people do!

One technical point - the intro to Francois' section is out of sync.

I really enjoyed this podcast.  It might be the best yet.  Young Joe is a great co-host--hip, ironic and very funny.

Two of my own fave moments are when Francois says, "Very handy" and when Sean says "Pyjama".

And I finally had a look at Matt Stuart's website. The images are really brilliant! I had to chuckle at almost every one of them. Thanks for mentioning him twice, Ed.

Actually, it's not out of sync.
I hacked a script and played the video backwards. That way, when I un-crumple the paper, it is readable.

Took me forever to  figure this one out ;)

I figured you'd done something like that. Were you using an earlier version of Windows Movie Maker (i.e. not Windows Live Movie Maker)? I know you're also a Linux guy, but Linux doesn't seem to have a wealth of easy-to-use video editing tools from what I can see...and believe me, I've done some looking.

BTW, you're a star, Francois. The people love you  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Ed.
Actually, I used AVIsynth for Windows. It's a weird scripting language for video which allows all sorts of strange things. Once you got your script right, you just drag & drop the text file on VirtualDUB which calls the Synth engine to do the hard work in the background. It's not a windows default and sadly, the program doesn't even have a user interface... But I also found (after sweating this one out) a program called AVE Visual Editor. It makes scripts for AVIsynth... but they are often buggy and you have to re-do things.

you sound like a dnb dj in the video, ed. you just need to say "another massive track", "anthem after anthem" and "a big shout out to" a bit more.

did you dub over the bw speaking section (francois' intro)?

I linked the video on my blog:

dunno how to imbed vimeo vids, so just a link...

No, I understood that bit! (And liked it.) It's Ed's intro to you that's out of sync - or it was when I played it anyway.

I've already seen similar models. This one is actually a copy of the Ray Flash Adapter. Different way of doing things...

Only just had chance to view this.  Great work.  So great being able to see rather than just listen when photography is the subject.   Keep em coming.  And if you want a contribution from the cold dark North anytime let me know as I came into photography through motion film/vid and have some rather good kit.
