dark room chem questions
« on: December 12, 2009, 10:47:08 AM »
i'm about to venture into the world of paper negatives(from pinhole cameras).  i have a few questions about the paper chemicals. i've bought ilford paper chems for development, stop and fixing. they are all in liquid form, so it looks like i can just mix as much as i need as i go along(very much like with chemicals for film).  can the chemicals be reused? when i develop film i routinely re-use the fix, but nothing else. what about for paper - fix? developer? if so do the chemicals need to be stored in dark/opaque bottles?

ilford stop has a colour indicator so will turn a purply colour when exhausted.  Developer oxidises quite quickly, so if you want consistent results, I'd use fresh each time.

you already know about fixer.
