World Toy Camera Day 2009
« on: October 20, 2009, 11:42:32 AM »
Here are my efforts from this year - traditional subjects for me are boats and ruined churches:

Love those boat shots - you do them so well!

Taking my film to the lab today so probably won't have mine up until next week.  I hate waiting!!

When is a camera a toy camera ? And, when is a camera not a toy camera?
I like to play with my camera, does that make it a toy camera ?

don't start us off on that one! I guess the standard answer is the camera should have a variety of qualifying features for it to be classed as a pure-bred Toycam: plastic lens, limited exposure controls, poor build qaulity & optical flaws. That said, it's not really that important here at FWs. They used to be a bit more strict about it over at toycamera.com. Not sure if they are still though.

Yep, they're still as strict as ever. And their Toy or not toy room is still blossoming.

I was going to participate this year after a few years away, but just didn't get round to it I'm afraid. Leon, I see you haven't lost the ability to make the Holga look like a significantly more expensive camera. Great stuff.

i forgot about it until beck mailed me. worked the night before so was sleeping half the day. i did mess about with my One600 and a couple packs of 600 that expired in 1984. i got one single shot that worked, and i wasted it on my mug.

Well... it can't be any more paradoxical than my participation this year... I make a poster during Summer vacation, work too much on it and on the day, I'm stuck having to do all the chores around the house before the rain comes... and it was the first time WTCD falls on a warm day...   :-[

These were all toy camera day efforts, taken with a mint green Savoy camera from 1957 or thereabouts, with a roll of Rex-All 620 film from 1963.  I included a flattering self-portrait (I'm the one in the hat) ;D

Did manage to shoot one roll due to the lousy weather conditions. Shot with a Holga TLR.

for some reason i wasn't very inspired this year so i just took out one toy camera. that diana 151 that was made in macau. then i had some problems while developing. i think my reels need to be cleaned up a bit, been having troubles with two rolls on a single reel lately(that second roll not being a toycam roll). here's a couple of shots from the day.
