Days before the weekend
« on: October 13, 2009, 05:46:16 PM »
Ok, having given up photography last week I find I'm producing more interesting images than before I gave it up! Toots Wilson, of Isle of Lewis Photographica [continuing] insisted I try out his Lubitel that had not seen the light of day since he purchased it not long after Stalin came to power - I think. Loadec it wif Perutz film rated it at about 50-100 and sloshed it afterwards in Print developer [as I do] and hey ho, I have some images.

Can't wait for the w/e thread, so this is the mid-week thread:-)

I went to town for a conference and decided to go get some yummy bagels at my favorite bagel place. I took along my trusty Instax and came back with these. Since they were not taken over the weekend, I posted them here...

Love the second shot. Nice to see the label on the registration plate so we know what we are looking at :-)

For the moped shot, I was stuck between a minivan and a big recycling bin. When the girl was walking by, I first thought I'd let her pass to get just the bike, but at the last minute, I decided to include her in the image. When you look closely, she's actually tracking me with her eyes...

It's one of the first time where I actually include someone for other purposes than setting proportions in the image. I like it quite a lot too.

Andrea,
I was amazed when I read on your blog that you use print developer.

Does it work with colour print film?

What kind of Perutz film was that?

Ah yes MrPitxu. Print developer. I'm well known on the island for that :-) Works with E6 films as well as B&W and C41 films. Having said that I mainly use it for sheet film to make Alt negs. I also use it for prints as it happens.
The Perutz film is the last of a batch I got in Manchester some years ago. Totally messed up it is but gives a great texture :-)

an image I've been waiting for a good 6 months to get.  It all seemed to line up right today - lighting, film, the composition especially....  bronica sq-a, polaroid back, type 669, expired 1999.
