Weekend (in the US a long one--yeah!)
« on: September 04, 2009, 04:20:35 AM »
The best way to make a holiday weekend better:  start early.

Here are two made today with my modified Crown Graphic and a recently procured old 90mm Angulon on Tri-X in a 2x3 roll film back.

Mornin' All,
Here are some new ones:
The first one is from a Graflex RB Tele and expired Agfa 160 Portrait film,
the next three are from a Zorki rangefinder and Fuji 160 S, and the last is from
a FED 2 rangefinder and Kodak Ektar 100.
Have a great weekend, everyone :D

Cyanotype from my new gift-camera, an MPP mk VIII. Its manual claims there's a bellows draw of 17inches!!!! Holycow, I'm going to be making macro pictures until the cows come home now...

Great to see this thread so early on in the chain of events...usually I miss the start and have to catch up. Anyway, big news (for me at least); I may have something to contribute to this thread for the first time in about 6 months. I shot some film last weekend & am getting it processed tomorrow  :D :D Just coming out of a self-imposed "no film photography" spell, but now looking forward to getting back into it.

You will be hearing from me later in this thread...I sort of, kinda, definitely maybe promise.

This morning I put the first test film through a restored (more on that later maybe) Canon Demi EE17 half frame. I've got a light leak to sort out (didn't show up in the two below) but, otherwise, looks like a worker.

The 4 films I picked up from the lab today all came out rather well. Since it's my first film work for several months please forgive my enthusiasm which on this occasion translates into me including several more pictures than I might normally post (esp as they're just family snaps). The camera was the new (to me) Pentax ME Super with the 50mm f1.4 lens. Film is Agfa Ultra 100 (RIP...sniff  :'(). This sequence of Child #1 was taken on the beach at St Margarets' Bay last weekend.

...and this final lot were taken the day before the beach shots as the kids ate chocolate ice cream at dinner. Same camera & lens, but this time the film was Agfa Precisa CT 100 slide (another discontinued film...oh the pain of being an Agfa film fan  :'(). I asked the lab to xpro the film and the prints came out with a quite pronounced blue tint which I've never seen before in all my years of getting slide film xpro'd. These quick scans are from the prints and so retain a lot of the blue characteristics. The light was fading fast so the f1.4 lens came in handy.

Thanks to the long weekend, I was able to expose (on my Crown Graphic with a roll film back) and develop two rolls of Tri-x, twice--record production for me.  These views of the falls at Blackstone Gorge are from yesterday's expedition.
