lab question for european wasters
« on: August 19, 2006, 03:47:48 PM »
Hi all

I have been editing a set of pictures that I shot last summer a job for a French wine company. They are setting up a new cellar door and want to use some of the pictures to decorate the walls. They would like me to provide files ready to print which they want to get done in Paris, rather than me send finished enlargements from Aussie.

Can anyone recommend a good digital output lab in Paris?

I'm planning to send a little sample A-4 print for them to match, but I'd like to see them done on heavy photo-rag style paper and be professional about the whole thing- not saddle my client (zero photo knowledge) with bum prints.

Or should I just tell them it's a dumb idea fraught with problems and insist on making and shipping the big prints myself?

cheers

I have a good friend in Paris who is also a photographer. I'll ring him and get back to you.

That's very kind Susan- I appreciate it. I did lots of googling, but one good testimonial is worth a 1000 adverts.

( I did spot one serious top-shelf darkroom service called 'ParisDarkroom' who has a very impressive client list- but unfortunately I won't be sending negs)

DB-

The name my friend gave me for a pro digi/film lab in Paris was Picto. http://www.picto.fr/

While waiting for him to get back to me, I happened upon this list on the internet and saw that Picto was mentioned.

hope that helps. :)
