On a recent holiday to Wales, I gave my 10 year old nephew my ricoh r1 loaded with a roll of delta 400 and told him to snap away. It was the first time he'd ever used a camera, and has shown virtually zero aptitude regarding visual arts so far in his life (he's a great drummer though and loves John Bonham so clearly has more than a modicum of taste) so I was not expecting anything brilliant to come out when we processed the film last week. Well, I was wrong. Out of only one roll of 36 exposures, there are 15 frames that I would happily print without any cropping - a much better success rate than my 35mm efforts. Here are just a choice few of his shots. I'm sure you'll agree he really does have a natural eye for composition etc. I'm well impressed.
