New and Crits
« on: July 21, 2009, 02:02:35 PM »
This is my first post in the forum, so I thought I'd start by saying hello.  I'm a Communication Design major at Parsons, but I've always had a love for photography, and the photographic process, probably inherited through my film based family.  I learned to shoot and print Black and white first, but I've been shooting mostly digital save for a four lens Lomo until recently.  A couple months ago I bought a Blackbird Fly, and I've been trying to learn it since, so I figured going to a place like this for crits was a good way to improve my skill.  Here are a couple of shots off of my first roll up for critiquing

Thanks in advance for any and all crits.

Welcome Half Moons. Happy to see new members posting !  I like the third shot you have here. I'm partial to windows and geometry ;-)

The other two don't do much for me. On the 1st it's the cross-processing.  While I like the negative space of the sky using that much of the shot, I'd like to see something of the sky there - a wisp of cloud or haze, some color, etc that may have resulted from standard c-41 processing.

Nonetheless, a nice start with your blackbird !
