New Guest Gallery - Ann Texter
« on: March 14, 2009, 10:40:46 PM »
Hey All,
Just posted a new guest gallery from Ann Texter. Check it out!
http://www.filmwasters.com/guests/v/guestgallery47/

I recently awarded Ann "honorable mention" in the Imagine exhibition currently on display in Los Angeles. The image selected  for the show is not posted here since it's mixed media--but it's off the charts great. I've been watching Ann's work grow for a long time and she's a wonderful talent. So thought you guys would enjoy viewing some of her past work.

Cheers,
Susan

I often visit Ann's site so it is very pleasing to see a gallery up here at filwasters. Thank you, Susan - oh, and thank you, Ann!

Very nice to see. Broad spectrum of subjects. Super work, thanks for showing it Susan and Ann.

I loved doing transfers too. It is great to see someone else still working with them.

I did a whole series where the transfered images were flopped and flipped repeatedly next to eachother, creating completely wonderful larger works. Somer were on wc paper and some on fabric that was either shown with light through it or quilted.

Anyone one of a source for the film?

This gallery is right up my street & its appearance here is very timely. I have a 5x4 Tachihara field camera arriving on Monday which I bought specifically so I could further my recently acquired love of doing Polaroid transfers. Ann's work in this medium is an inspiration to be sure. Thanks Ann (and Susan...who's definitely a gal who knows how to spot them  ;) :D).

The Polaroid film is all gone in most places, however you can use the Fuji films for transfers. They just have to be transfered differently. And the color palatte is different. Fuji has directions on their site. And they have both a 4x5 and a 3x4 size, that will work in the old polaroid cameras, backs, slide printers, etc.

I  live just down the street in the OC so I was able to see the show.  It was a nice show.  Susan did a great job selecting the photographs, including Ann's which looked very nice on the wall.  The show as a whole was very professionally done.
