Cambo....
« on: January 30, 2009, 08:25:35 AM »
So here it is,    my new cambo LF with a 210mm lens....so far its great fun,     a whole load of stuff to learn,   just the actual process of taking a picture requires a certain amount of thought, but its so true that its slows you down, makes you think......which is great.

So much to learn though,  compensation for bellows extension i think is the main thing.   Then i might start on all the movements......  so much to learn.

Dude, that's the worst snap of a camera by a photographer that I've ever seen. Closer, sexier...all that stuff. C'mon.

I recently acquired a Shen-Hao 4x5 field view camera, the HZX45-II
 - Rodenstock Geronar 1:6.3 150mm, Copal 0
 - Boss screen
 - Polaroid 405 back
 - Toyo 3.6x loupe

I've run through a couple of packs of Fuji FP-3000b, plan to waste some 100b & 100c soon. I'm also looking for a 210mm and a 90mm to round out its capabilities.

So far, lots of fun. A bunch of failures, but I'm liking it. Hopefully, by summer I'll have learned enough to start loading up 4x5 sheets. I'm thinking Fuji Acros 100. I'm sure a little experimentation will help me decide.

Here are a bunch of pictures of the back on my graflex.
The back is held by spring loaded hooks. When removed, the camera has a set of 2 bars with 4 tabs that slide in to lock a film loader. The picture is with a Polaroid film pack adapter since it clearly shows the working of the tabs.

I think it is a graflock back since it's on a graflex :)

It's very cool especially if you plan on getting a roll film back since they're much cheaper for Graflock than universal backs.

so far so good!

Not taken it out yet,   but reckon i would if i was driving......

i dont have anything to compare it against BUT Seems very good, solidly built, good movements etc

I would say if its a good price then go for it!!
