I recieved this from Freestyle earlier today regarding my order:
Before we start shipping this product to you we want to clarify any issues, speculation or misinformation regarding what this film actually is.
Originally, when we were contacted by Polaroid, this film was represented simply as SX-70 (manipulatable emulsion) in 10 exposure packs.
We have updated our website to include the following more specific information as follows:
Polaroid SX-70 Artistic TZ Instant Film 8 exp. - Single Pack (For Image Manipulation)
This emulsion is compatible with SX-70 Image Manipulation Process.
Film speed: ISO 100
This film is able to be manipulated and will fit/work in any version of a Polaroid SX-70 camera. The photographic characteristics may appear to be slightly muted when compared to original SX-70.
NOTE: This is not the previous SX-70 Blend brand of Polaroid film. The Artistic TZ is made specifically for its ability to be manipulated, at the request of Polaroid's customers. For best results, do not try to manipulate the image until about 1 hour after the image is processed, and then it will be possible to manipulate for up to 24 hours after the image was taken.
As of 8:00 am on July 7th we have been informed by Polaroid that each pack contains 8 exposures!
Fresh dated, final run.
Any thoughts about that? I'm wondering just what the differences are going to be between this film and the original Time Zero... I'm particularly bummed about the fact that it's only 8 exposures as opposed to 10- quite a price to pay for only 8 shots. Was already steep enough for ten.
I guess in any event if it proves not to my liking, there'll likely be others down the road willing to take it off my hands. Still, I'm just a bit unsure weather or not to cancel the order so I'd be curious to hear other opinions. Has anyone else placed an order for this stuff?
