Fujifilm FI-800GT instant film usable in Kodak EK8 (?)
« on: June 25, 2008, 02:46:56 AM »
Hi, perhaps the following is of interest to instant shooters:

I have not tried this myself to confirm, but it appears that with some minor modifications Fujifilm FI-800GT instant film is usable in Kodak EK8 cameras.

The Fuji film is more sensitive than the Kodak camera wants it, so apparently a smaller aperture or ND filter is required.

Instructions on how to modify (in Japanese): http://island.geocities.jp/sihohigari/jp/tip/fi800.html

Fujifilm FI-800GT instant film is available only in Japan, but available via direct personal imports.

Regards

Dirk

This is good. I just brought out my Kodak Colorburst and looking to see if I had any of the PR10 film left. I have two twin packs left. My dad found the camera at work a couple years ago and gave it to me. Then, I looked online for film and was lucky enough to find a box of it....like, 9 or 10 twin packs for $10. I've since used most of it as it, dating back to 1986...with exposures on the iffy side...but still manageable. I've gave some of it away too...

I'm not familiar with that Fuji film....but the conversion looks interestingly enough to try...maybe. With a translation of course. Good find....

So the Fuji 800GT film is confirmed to work in the Kodak EK8 after all, nice cinematic proportions too:
