Has anyone else noticed the artifacts (don't know what else to call them) in some of Jennifer's pictures. 'Three Trees' has a lot of round patterns in the lower third. Some others, including 'Raindrops on Lake' have some rectangular patches showing. Are these 'Holga' artifacts? The round ones look like a bad example of burning in with a large round brush in Photoshop - surely not...

Here's a couple of crops with the contrast increased to show what I'm talking about.

Monopix,
Not sure where the patterns come from, but I've seen some of these prints in person.
And as Jennifer specifies in her statement--they were in fact made in a traditional darkroom.

I sometimes will scan and retouch images for online use that never are printed conventionally and may not get the same care as an actual print - silver or digital - and maybe these scans / files were pulled together with a similar nonchalance because Jennifer's actual prints are indeed beautiful.

The Hurricane Story - the color image is from this series - is an amazing book.  It should ultimately find a publisher as it is a seriously compelling collection of images and words.

My chopstick is really a love poem.

I do much the same thing.
