Anyways, I'll be travelling to Hong Kong / Macau this coming weekend and am wondering if anyone knows of any good camera / film stores?
Neih hou! It depends what you are looking for I guess. New stuff, prices questionable, can be obtained in many places of course. In HK avoid the shops on The Dark Side - especially Nathan Road. Prices may look good, until you say `yes`, and you find they have decanted everything and have to pay extra for everything that was originally included in the box...
Shops on the island, a few near Central Market have good prices on `gray imports` from Japan. Mostly digital though. Also Mong Kok, but again mostly digital. Largely honest.
Secondhand there is a few places in Wellington / Stanley Street, Central. In the Men's Market too you can sometimes find treasures, but here too it is mostly junk. Humidity kills old stuff very quickly, and old stuff is not
de rigeur with the locals.
Macau - all I ever bought there was furniture and great grilled sardines for lunch. Good luck regardless! Skj.
