🎯 New York City is the perfect place for a photographer drawn to street photography. But while many attempt it, few succeed at getting their street images beyond the snapshot. There are so many elements at play to consider, all interacting simultaneously: the crowds, the vastness, the humor, the anguish, the castes, the geometry; how do you capture all that within a frame and take your imagery to another level, one that is your own point of view? How do you go beyond the basic recording of the physical scene to capturing the magic that is the City street, and creating images for the ages?

Phil Penman is a photographer who captures that magic daily. One of, if not the, most prominent street photographers working today, Phil has been compared to Cartier-Bresson, and he will join us to discuss his work, and offer lessons on how to improve yours.

In his presentation, Phil will touch on the business of street photography, doing prints, publishing a book, the beauty of creating an image vs Artificial Intelligence, becoming an overnight success after 30 years, and defining your own style.

🎯 Please join us in the Adorama Event Space or on the livestream. This talk is co-sponsored by Adorama and DEVELOP, my free photography newsletter.
