Somethin' for 2025
« on: November 08, 2024, 06:43:17 PM »
I have been looking for a calendar/diary for next year and got to wondering if Filmwasters had ever put one together. A quick search brought up a couple of threads

I got to wondering if people are up for it, are we too late to get one organised, could we do it with with an alternate start date  (as in the thread), what were the admin difficulties and will FW members actually purchase it.
I'm not the most organised of people but I am willing to give it a go, so what do we think?

I would definitively buy an FW calendar, Kenna is too slick. But from the two links I cannot see how it was organized. It seems like people submitted pictures and then there was a vote for those that ended up in the calendar? Not much time left before the year is over, but it could be done.

If I remember, it was organized by either Ed or Damion.
We would submit the pics by email and one of them just chose 12 pictures for the months...

I'm fairly certain it was Damion that organized it and picked.

Thanks for the info. But the most important thing now is to tell Irv if you would like to participate, without a good number of commiments to buy a calendar this will never get off the ground.

I could dig through my stuff for a pic.
The previous calendars were printed by Lulu Books if I recall.
Ed had set-up a Gmail for that. People would send a JPG of a specific size and a short description (including their name).

I think we'll leave this for next Autumn, work is hectic at the moment and with a bit more time things should work out better.

Definitely.
And I don't know about y'all, but I'm worried sick about the state of the economy for the next year (or next 4 years I should say).
Right now, I'm spending only on things I deem essential, saving my pennies for the upcoming storm.
