Saw this this morning!
Our very own Joe Van Cleave and Ethan from Cameradactyl reinvented the Afghan Box Camera.
Pretty sweet design that's a lot more compact than the original.

It's pretty cool, I was at Ethan's when him and Joe did the design .
It might need a little tweaking, but it is small and lightweight.

That must have been pretty fun. Did you have any input in the project?

I know I was quite impressed when I saw it. All it's really missing are a cable release holder, a handle on the top that can double as a sign, little clips for agitating without getting your fingers wet and floating lids. But I guess most of the people who buy it will eventually put these mods in place in a way or another.

It was fun, and we mostly sketched and talked about how to hinge it inside of the dark bag part to not get the fabric caught or in the way when using it. It had to have a "just right" factor. Not too big or too small.

After reviewing the video and thinking about the workflow my conclusion is, that at least for myself, I’d have a separate camera using standard film holders and the glove box would be for developing and also reloading film holders.
I imagine the all-in-one-box approach has a certain appeal but for practical considerations I’d separate the camera and developing box. Sure like the vertical tanks though. That is a real space saver.

Edit; Also, with my skill level and tool selection it is much easier to build a glove box without the camera built in. I have a little used changing bag that could donate it’s sleeve’s.
