Weekend June 18 to 20, 2021
« on: June 18, 2021, 10:35:21 PM »
Another beautiful weekend in the Pacific Northwest.  Walked down to a park near my house with my dogs and my Baby Rolleiflex loaded with Ilford HP5+ (sorry, no pictures of the dogs).  I developed it in Kodak HC-110 dilution B.

This bike trail is very popular, it runs the whole length of the Sammamish river then continues into Seattle.  They keep expanding it and connecting it with other trails.

great start Bryan. You live in a mega filmwasting area.
I don't know if I could stand all that greenery though...the desert looks like toast most of the time out here, so my eyes hurt when I see that much green.  :D
My photos are from today, since I finished up the traveling OLY to send it back and took along my Zenit 122 that I got from Chris several years ago in a share the love swappy thing here.  I had the Helios 44-4M lens on it and some colorplus 200 loaded. I think my color kit is just about kaputsky as the film was fresh and the color is shifted.
Anyway, the place I like to go near here for camera testing was originally an old truck stop that is now a flea market where the owner feeds all the stray feral cats in the county.

While I was there today I watched several grackles steal the cat food and get drinks..

Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Nice images everyone. :-)

I took a short road trip to see my folks in North Carolina a few weeks back and brought Dad's old K1000 along for the ride. Now that I no longer live in the south I realize I should have spent more time exploring and photographing it when it would have been easy to do so!

Jeff those are really nice and you could get lost in the south just following all kinds of roads and trails that are endless and full of that southern charm and intrigue.
I can see a little William Christenberry coming to the surface in these. :-)

Last week I popped up to Woodstock for a couple of days to get away from the madness of the city. It rained most of the time I was there, of course, but I managed to pop off a few shots. Canonet/Ektachrome EPW100 (exp unknown) shot at 50 and developed standard C41.

Thanks Becky, that’s one thing I love about this time of year, green exploding everywhere.  I’m going to be missing the green soon enough, I’ll be spending most of my summer in your toasted desert.  I have a project on the Navajo Nation north of Gallup.  There is some very beautiful country up there, lots of rock formations, even some trees at the high elevations.

I managed to get to Scarborough on the east coast of the UK for the day on Thursday. I took a film I've not used previously (AgfaPhoto APX400). and a roll of Delta 400 with a 25A filter exposed at 800. Shot on my Pentax MX, and developed in R09.

Woodstock is a great place. Kate Pierson of the B-52 runs a small inn there with her wife :)
It's also at a small cottage in Woodstock that the video for Love Shack was shot. It used to belong to a friend of theirs and the inside was not re-decorated to make the video.

Motel is for sale as of earlier this month: https://nypost.com/2021/06/07/b-52s-kate-pierson-is-selling-her-love-shack-catskills-motel/

Was CPW open when you were in Woodstock? I had been going up there monthly for the photographer's salon before things got weird. Those meetings are still online, but I haven't looked to see if the gallery is open yet.

Didn't know she was selling... I guess running a small motel in a small country town wasn't the best business decision.

She owned it for quite a while, and the Hudson Valley is booming for tourism right now. I suspect it was less about business than a personal decision.

I was not aware of the CPW until just now! But my reason for going to Woodstock was to avoid people and buildings and such (as my photographs demonstrate 😉), so no big loss there.

Well that makes sense. Let me know the next time you're up there - I'm only about 1.5 hours away.
