Crater Lake Infrared
« on: August 02, 2019, 04:32:20 PM »
While working in Oregon I was close enough to Crater Lake to do a day trip on my day off.  I drove around the rim stopping at many of the viewpoints and did a few hikes.  This is one of my favorite places, I try to get there whenever I'm in the area.  Last year I was working in the same area and wanted to go but the lake was always socked in with smoke from all the forest fires.  So far the fire season has not been bad in this area so I had some great weather.

Photographed with  a Minolta srTscII using a Tamaron Adaptall2 24mm f/2.5 lens with a dark red filter.  Shot on Kodak HIE Infrared film that expired 12/2008.  Developed in Rodinal 1:50.   This was my first time shooting Kodak HIE so each shot was bracketed at 400, 200 and 100 ISO's.  As I got close to the end of the roll I only bracketed at 200 and 100 ISO.  This worked out because 400 just didn't give good IR results.  Shooting this film in the future I would continue to bracket at 200 and 100.

Thanks for the kind comments, that second one is also my favorite, it show the infrared on the foliage the best.
