Hello strangers!
« on: September 30, 2018, 11:15:05 PM »
Has anything good been going on?

It's been a horrible year here. My other half is ill, and needs an operation, and I'm here most of the time looking after her. So much for the Pilgrim Trail.  :(

I haven't been taking many pictures; we're an income down and the house has needed building work, so I've had to be really careful with money.

When things get back to normal, I've got loads of film to develop!

I feel your pain.
Here in Canada we at least have a somewhat decent health care system, so that helps a little. But it doesn't take any of the worries away.
And house repairs are never cheap. We had to replace a gas hot water heater last week and it definitely wasn't fun or cheap. And sad thing is that since it's gas, I couldn't do it myself....

Here the filmasting hasn't been so great either. The problem we have has to do with traffic and construction work. There's so much of it all around my home town that you just can't get anywhere. And when you get a clear bit of road, people try and make up for the lost time and drive at breakneck speed until they have an accident which blocks traffic once more. Last time I went to Montreal it took me 1:30 to drive around 15km.... insane. There has been a survey done across Canada and we have the worst traffic situation in the country. So I'm stuck in the most boring suburb in the world with few possibilities to get out.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

Chris, I hope all goes well for her so you can get your lives back to normal.  I've been shooting like crazy this summer but now the weather is starting to turn, so that won't help.  I look forward to seeing what you shot when you find time to develop it.

Very sorry to hear this Chris, I hope your partner will be ok. I guess we do not know how lucky we are in my country where you are secured an income even if you are ill. That is thanks to the fight that my father's and grandfather's generation put up so many years ago. Younger people have forgotten this and vote for parties that wants to reverse the welfare gains. We might still have to start the fight all over again.
