I did this last year and got a 50 foot roll of HP5+ in 127 format.  They are doing 127 in the same film this year so I won't need any more, I have enough to last a while.

120 backing paper is about 60" long, so a 100' roll will get you 20 rolls of 120.

I wish they would offer 127 backing paper.  I have plenty of 120 backing paper that I cut down to 127 but I don't trust my cut so I have to load and unload the film in the dark.

70mm backing paper would be nice too. There's no good way to DIY it (that I have thought of).

I have overlapped 120 backing paper but I wouldn't call that a "good" way to do it.
