These shots are from a project I started around four to five years ago and never finished. I meant to do something with better film and larger format, but lost interest along the way. So these shots are a kind of sketches for later use.
I have been doing some shooting in cemeteries on and off, and I noticed that in the oldest ones people place chairs, stools and benches on the graves. I imagine they use these to rest, meditate or perhaps talk to the dead, who knows. Then I noticed the variety of these sitting implements and started taking pictures of them. Some are new and shiny, others old and worn, some quite opulent and others rather humble. These shots are from the oldest cemetery in Stavanger, some of the graves here date back to the 18th century. Quite fittingly this cemetery is situated in a part of town called Paradise............
All shots are on expired Konica Centuria 400s, cameras used are Contax G1 and G2 pluss a 50's Zeiss Ikon Contessa LK with a light meter way off.
